KERPUNK FESTIVAL TO TAKE PLACE THIS WEEKEND IN LONDON
The KerPUNK Festival has been announced with a confirmed venue yesterday, Wednesday, January 18th. It takes place this weekend, Saturday, January 21st, and Sunday, January 22nd. The confirmed venue for Saturday is the Rhythm Factory in Whitechapel in East London. The venue for Sunday is to be confirmed shortly.
Yes, you’ve read this correctly, a festival, this weekend, announcing now. The KerPUNK Festival was conceived by Tony Anastasi, who is the co-owner of Green Day Authority, the world’s largest Green Day fan site. Artist invites began to make it to the U.S on January 9th, and since then Anastasi has single-handedly produced this event—arranging flights, wrangling backline, securing hotels and the Rhythm Factory.
The festival will feature L.A.-based Prima Donna, who was the support band on both European and Asian Green Day stadium tours. Their second album, Bless this Mess, will be released on Valentine’s Day on Acetate Records. Adam Bones is also from Los Angeles, this is their London debut. Bryan McPherson hails from Boston. Most of the remaining acts come from Green Day’s hometown of Oakland or neighboring San Francisco. The full line-up is below.
